On the 24th September, GCH hosted a special event as a contribution to the Great Big Green Week. The hybrid event which was also available online was called: Facing the Challenges of our Rapidly Changing World: Creating Conditions for People and Planet to Thrive. The speakers consisted of two spiritual leaders: Maureen Goodman, Canon Giles Goddard and two scientists: Professor James Mair, Dr Thomas Bruhn. The report is attached and a link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgm_3klYW0Y.
On the 22nd September, a small group of eight BKs went to a Parliament Square Vigil in London to hear messages about Loss and Damage from faith leaders and to support Go Dharmic and Faith for the Climate in this initiative.
Hanuman Hass, Chair and Founder of Go Dharmic spoke beautifully about ahimsa, love, coming together and connecting. Rabbi Jonathan Whittebberg gave a loving speech about God. We also heard an impassioned speech from Caroline Lucas, Green MP.
There were around 80 participants gathered around the statue of Ghandi at the Square. Canon Giles, Chair of Faith for the Climate and Shanon Shah were fasting for the day, as were many others who came from far and wide. BKs joined in by fasting from waste.
