UNEP: Faith for Earth meeting Dec 2019

This was an international three day workshop held 17th -19th December 2019 and attended by Faith for Earth leaders on invitation by UNEP, to develop proposals in line with the sustainable development goals to address issues of climate change. Most of the work was accomplished through group discussions and presentations. The Brahma Kumaris were represented by Sisters Pratibha Patel and Dorcas Alusala.

A presentation made by Dorcas introduced the Brahma Kumaris as a spiritual organization that promotes social and spiritual values and that the organization is implementing projects that are environmentally friendly such as solar and wind power. The Brahma Kumaris peace park was proposed as one of those things that can be included in the proposal and replicated in other countries. The Brahma Kumaris contribution therefore was based on establishment of peace parks in countries in Africa as a faith for earth project to create awareness on the importance of conservation and for recreational activities. On the final day each participant made a commitment to work together.

The workshop was facilitated by Kristina and Klaus-Michael from Sweden.
