Rising to the Climate Emergency – Brahma Kumaris at COP29
Azerbaijan will host the 29th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) in Baku on 11-22 November 2024. The COP29 summit will bring parties together with a view to accelerating implementation of action and financing to limit global heating and support adaptation, as envisaged by the Paris Agreement. 17:00-18:30 Dialogue: The role of faiths at climate discussions
For many years different faith communions and faith based organizations been attending COP and UNFCCC meetings. Some of them have been around since the start of the climate convention and some have come very recently. The reason to attend might have different nuances. Some come to offer space for reflection and spiritual recovery for people attending COP. Some have advocacy as their primal reason to participate. Another reason might be to bring the voices of those in their communities vulnerable to climate change. There might also be some faith based organisations might have ambitions to cover these aspects and some others.
