Brahma Kumaris at the UN Environment Assembly 2025

From 1–12 December 2025, the Brahma Kumaris participated in the Seventh Open-Ended Committee of Permanent Representatives (OECPR-7) and the Seventh United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) in Nairobi, Kenya, the world’s environmental capital. More than 6,000 participants from 186 countries, including ministers, government delegates, UN agencies, youth, faith actors, and civil society, gathered to address urgent environmental challenges under the theme “Advancing sustainable solutions for a resilient planet.” UN Environment Assembly is the UN highest environment Decision-making body. The Brahma Kumaris delegation engaged throughout the two weeks in a spirit of service and learning—observing negotiations, participating in youth and interfaith spaces, organizing a values-based side event, and contributing a calm, positive presence to the conference environment. Their engagement emphasized the importance of ethical leadership, inner transformation, and values-driven action as essential foundations for effective environmental governance.Key contributions included participation in the Youth Environment Assembly, co-organizing the first Interfaith Talanoa Dialogue at UNEA, hosting the side event “Inner Strength & Ethical Leadership: Driving Change for a Resilient Planet,” and networking with delegates through reflective conversations and values-based tools. Across these spaces, the Brahma Kumaris highlighted the role of conscience, compassion, and inner resilience in responding to the triple planetary crisis.
Overall, the experience reaffirmed that while policies and negotiations are vital, lasting solutions for people and planet are strengthened when decision-making is grounded in inner values, ethical clarity, and a shared sense of global responsibility.
